I love watching the sky after it gets dark. I did that a lot when I was very young. I still remember the 2″ reflector telescope which was there in my grandparent’s place way back in 1987. The scope was totally out of collimation and I did not know what was wrong and could never use it. But the telescope came with a manual and the manual had a star map. The moment I looked at that star map I was so exited and fascinated about the things I learned from it and i decided to become an astronomer! An ambition which got lost when I eventually got engrossed into computers and programming. My interest and hobby of programming software turned into my full time profession. I did find some time a few years back to make a 4″ reflector and enjoyed it for some time till by work pressures took over again. Till last year, I thought I was blessed because by hobby of programming software turned into my bread winner. Fortunately I realized that it was not true both from a professional and psychological view point. SO! from 2009 I have decided to get back to my old, relaxing hobby of star watching…
The pages here will have information for the ameture astonomer and a complete log and details about the 300 mm (12″) newtonion reflector I am building from Jan 2009.
